Baber, Frederick Charles was born in 1879 in Frenchay, Gloucestershire. Son of James Baber and Elizabeth. He married Ada Lucy Sole 12 April 1909 in Churchill, Oxfordshire. He appears on the 1881 & 1891 censuses for Winterbourne, Gloucestershire; 1901 for Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire; 1911 for Adlestrop. He appears on the electoral rolls for 1911-1912. He was a Police Constable and a school attendance officer. He was 5'11''. At age 32 he had "varicose veins and a slipped cartilage in his knee which made him unfit for marching but quite fit for home service."
